Sharing 'Shoulder Taps'

I wrote a post a while back about God's 'shoulder taps' along this journey encouraging and supporting me. I've had many 'shoulder taps' and some of you have even been a part of them, whether you know it or not. I couldn't possibly share them all, but this one I felt was worthy.

I recently subscribed to Real Simple magazine. My first issue was the May issue and of course had Mother's Day stuff all over the cover. I thought "Oh great, this is all I need right now... a whole issue devoted to me feeling like crap." No offense to the mothers (including my own) out there, but this holiday has not exactly been a joyous time for me for the past couple of years. So I was going in with a bad attitude reading the article "What's the Greatest Gift Your Mother Ever Gave You?" Among the responses they pick their favorite and this was this month's winner:

"When I was two days old, I was abandoned on a sidewalk in Seoul, South Korea. My mother adopted me and raised me in a home full of love. What did she give me? My whole life!"
Tara Robbins Fee of Washington, Pennsylvania

Not only is this beautiful and just what I needed to read, but the woman was adopted from Korea, no coincidence to me.
One day you'll look forward to the Mother's Day issue.

It's always so amazing to me when these types of things happen. No matter how big or small they can have such an impact and many times just verify that you are on the right track and that things are meant to be :)

Thanks for sharing--what a great story! Lately I've heard and read a lot about the grief and anger kids feel when they grow up--a positive story is always appreciated! Hopefully by Mother's Day you will have your referral!!
