Summer 2009

I mentioned that we hope to travel to Korea in August to bring Gabe home. The agency tells us 3-5 months, the average seems to be about 4 months, which would be late August. You may wonder...why so long? As usual, we need to wait on many people (mostly government agencies) in both the United States and Korea to do their job as quickly as possible, which isn't always that fast. It really depends on how many requests they have, if they have all our paperwork, how staffed they are, and a little luck. The next step is Gabe's 'legals' from Korea. This is the paperwork needed to start processing approval to bring him here. They're all big steps, but this is a pretty big one because nothing else can start until we get these documents. We should have them by the end of the month.
Dave and I are going to try to enjoy this summer to the fullest. I know I'll get anxious at times about the wait to travel, but we really want to enjoy these last few months as a couple. I've never been so excited for summer to start, or end, all at the same time!

***My friend Sue met her son today! I'm so happy for her and can't imagine that moment. She did report that Gabe's care package has been delivered and the social workers at Eastern knew just who it was for. I feel a little closer to him today***

Definitely take time to do couple things! I wish we had done more of them. Also, I wish I hadn't dilly-dally'ed on getting things done for little boy... like baby-proofing! You never know how quick it will happen (but be prepared for the longest time) And of course, you know I'm hoping you get your call SOONER rather than LATER!

It will go so fast! It will SEEM like forever but when you look back after you are holding your baby at where you were and what you were doing right now, you will be shocked how fast the time went.

I TOTALLY know what you mean. ;-) I want the time to FLY, but I also know how much we need to do in the next few months.

Praying for a party of 6 in Seoul in August!!!! Us 3 and you 3. :-) Sound good?!

Enjoy your last few months together as a couple. The time will fly, even though at times it will seem as though it is stopped. You will be a family of 3 before you know it! Come on Legals!!!
