One of my blog friends had the great idea of having a 'get together' in Chicago for a group of us that regularly comment on each others blogs and know each other in the blog world. We had a fabulous time catching up, chatting and of course laughing. Saturday afternoon we met at the hotel, most of us without our husbands and kids, to meet and have a baby shower for the 3 that are still waiting to travel for their babies.
We then headed to Ben Pao for a girl's night out with fun cocktails and good food.
We finally left when they were literally sweeping up around us. Back at the hotel we had some more wine a few more laughs. Those of us (ok, me) that are the sensible kind and like the morning, hit the hay around 1:30...the rest of those jokers turned in around 4.Sunday morning was time to meet up with the babes and their dads at the Shedd Aquarium. It was so fun to see all our boys exploring the museum and having fun together.
Everyone really got along and seemed to click well together. It is so fun to start new friendships at this stage of my life. There are certain topics that we were able to be candid about with each other, that only we understand. It was refreshing and exciting to have a natural connection with such a great group of ladies.

first of all - i am also amazed you got a post together already! it must be because you went to sleep at 1:30 instead of 4:30!!
second - i smiled all the way through this post! it was an awesome weekend and i loved all of it - even the getting out of bed after only 2 hours of sleep!

I love these pictures. So fun to see so many of my blog friends together in person...I'm still sooooooo bummed I couldn't make it this time. I also love seeing all those boys together...so cute. I hope we can make it to the next event. Please have more...spring or summer would be much better for driving down.

I couldn't have hoped for a nicer weekend and Joanna, you captured it so well here! You ladies are all amazing, and I loved every minute of hanging out with you in Chicago. I'm sad it's over but I can't wait for GBFGT 2010 (Seattle?!)
PS - Joanna, I also attribute your early blog posting to your decision to go to bed at 1:30am (wimp!) on Saturday... The rest of us 4:30ers will get to that eventually ....

PPS - I LOVED meeting you in person and I was THRILLED to meet Gabe, too, who is just a completely adorable little guy. And to see all six of the little guys together was like magic.
OK, clearly my lack of sleep is affecting my ability to comment coherently. I guess this weekend WAS GBFGT 2010, eh? My mind is still stuck in 2009. What I REALLY meant to say was GBFGT 2011 in Seattle!!
