Seoul Bro Update

The question I get the most is how is the wait different this time around. In most ways it's a lot easier. I have a cute little toddler to hang out with, and we've done this before so we kind of know what to expect. The biggest difference though, is that we trust the system. We have faith that it all works out as it should. All the things in the universe that have to happen to match us with our son, is really awe inspiring, and it's best to not over think it and just 'let go.'
The first time around, I swear we had all our paperwork filled out in about a week. This time, we've taken our time since we knew we could. However, our social worker came over last week for our final home study visit and said we were #7 on the list. Wow!! That means we can probably expect a referral in early May. We were originally told July. We're very excited, but now it's time to really get ready for our son to reveal himself!

Now for the bummer part. I've mentioned this before but I need to re-iterate it...we probably won't travel to Korea until about a year later.

*For those of you looking into Korean adoption and are in IL, IA or WI our agency has a relatively short list right now, so please feel free to email me with questions, etc.

Love this, love this, love this. I cannot wait to see a picture of Seoul Bro! It's so fun to think that you'll be waiting to travel very soon!

And don't think I won't be running through the halls at ESWS calling out "Seoul Bro, Seoul Bro, where ARRRRRRRRRRE you?"

Thanks for the update...I was curious about where you are in the wait but didn't want to be too pushy as I know you must get that question ALL THE TIME. I can totally see how it would be somewhat easier the second time around. We were the PAPs that dragged on our paperwork too, because we were also chasing around a toddler - it wasn't for lack of motivation we didn't do it. Glad to hear you seem at peace with the pacing of it all. It sounds like you'll learn from your bloggy friends what bringing home an older baby entails, and when all is said and done, you'll be a family of four :) Still, I'm pulling for you that something changes and he comes home sooner than you think.

Thanks for the update. I always wondered how people felt about the process the second time around...especially the waiting. #7? That's wonderful!

I can totally relate to the more laid back approach to the second time around. We've been on the girl list for 14 months now and are just about to file our I600A. Talk about slackers! We knew there wasn't a need to hurry so we just didn't.

Can't wait to see a post with a picture of the little man.

This makes my heart pitter patter with excitement! It's so much fun to follow families going for #2 since there [seems to be] less agony and stress with the process. I can't wait to see that boys face!

So nice to hear an update! I can imagine (now) that the wait to #2 is just a tad different since you are slightly occupied with another toddler :) We just can't wait for Seoul Bro to reveal himself ... in just a few short months!!!

Congrats on being 7th!! Very exciting news! I must say also, the wait for baby #2 was much easier than for #1. Your referral will be here before you know it. It's a bummer about the wait to TC time, but us waiting AP's can get through it together:)

Two months and you should know the face of your little man. So exciting to know that he is in Korea waiting for you already. Looking forward to following your journey to him. The long travel wait sucks. What is the reason?
