Reality Check at the 3 Month Marker

Today marks 3 months that we've been waiting to travel and I thought I would give you the current 'state of the union.' We are STILL waiting on our USCIS approval here in the U.S. For a while Immigration was really moving, but it's hit a slow down recently. My only theory as to why it's taking so long is that everything just slows down in the summer, and that includes in Korea too. Which leads me to the reality check...

Though it is possible, travel in August is not looking good at this point. Paperwork in Korea is moving much slower than usual, and in particular Eastern (the agency in Korea), is moving slower than all the other agencies in Korea. I know the people at Eastern want our babies home as quickly as possible and they are doing all they can to get paperwork through. I just want to prepare you all that September is looking more likely for our travel call and October is not out of the question. TRUST ME, I know it's a bummer.

You know that I'm constantly thinking about you and Gabe (and the other Eastern babies)... right? I'm hoping things pick up soon! Hang in there.

Wow Joanna, that is SUCH a huge bummer. Know that you are in my thoughts every day as you wait for an update on Gabe.

Here's hoping your reality check is wrong and things pick up really soon. Hoping and praying that August (at least late August!) is not out of the question ... I'm sorry, this must be so hard for you Joanna.

Our USCIS office has a reputation of being slow as well. Weve been in the process a long time, so we had to go through them twice. But anyway the first time took 4 months for USCIC approval. The second time, we decided we would not wait that long, but callour senetors office. He pushed things along within two weeks for us, to help get our baby home!! Just a though.

I pray you will travel soon but it is awesome how aware you are of the situation and have prepared your hearts to have to wait longer!

Things just have to start moving along faster... this dry spell has been lasting way too long. I'm hoping that lots of good news comes pouring in for our group SOON!

We are praying for papers to process too. It is very difficult to wait. It makes it a little easier to swallow when you know all of these fine details are for our children. Try and get lots of rest now...:)

How discouraging! Hopefully things will pick up! I'm sorry. I'm also waiting on CIS, but not as long as you have been. Maybe you'll hear something today??

Hang in there. This part of the wait is possibly the absolute worst: so, so close and yet all you can do is hope and wish that things go faster. You'll make it!!! And throw yourself lots of pity parties. They help :)

I'm sorry...that's so disappointing for you two. I'll pray for patience and peace and for you to be pleasantly surprised!!

Hugs, friend. You know you're in my thoughts and prayers all the time. Praying that we both get TCs sooner than we think!

Just keep that bag packed - because when you get your call, you will want to get on the next plane! Hoping for a speedy travel call.

I hope it moves quickly for you. We were in your shoes 2 months ago so I know how you feel. The call will come and I pray it comes sooner than later.

The waiting game is hard, indeed. But, I PROMISE... once Gabe is in your arms, all that waiting stress will melt away. The paper pregnancy pains will dissipate. Its so nice that you have the info that will prepare you for the extra wait, versus it being a surprise. We'll continue to keep you guys in our thoughts. Much love to you and Baby Gabe!! xoxo
