We had to do a lot of eating. Obviously, the residents of Wisconsin love their dairy. Only in WI is there a loooonnng line for a glass of milk. It is flavored (cherry, banana, root beer, strawberry) and it is only .25 cents, so that does add to the appeal. We also chowed down on pork sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, corn on the cob, fried cheese curds, and of course the world famous cream puffs.

See ya next year, Fair!:
Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet up with a new blog friend, Grace, who was also at the fair. Gabe and I had met her in the city on Thursday and had a great time! Gabe took to her right away, which doesn't usually happen when he meets new people. He was smiling and playing with her and showing her all his tricks. She is obviously a natural! Grace and her husband are waiting for their adorable son to come home from Korea. We chatted about all things Korean, adoption, what to expect, what not to, and just got to know each other. I knew we would click (I mean, her blog title is a pun too!) and we did. She is funny, has a good perspective, stylish, and easy to talk to. Yay for new friends! Boo that sometimes they live far away.

It looks like a fun time! I laughed when I read that Gabe looked up at you in surprise at the sheep sound. It's so great when they can see first hand what you've been talking about in books.
What flavor milk did you try? They all sound kind of gross so I'm curious.
And yay, for new friends!! I'm going to check out her blog now.
Oooh, the fair! I'm so jealous of all the delicious dairy-laden items you ate!
And gotta love farm animals :)
okay, now my turn to blush! :) sad we didn't get to meet at the fair but it looks like you guys and especially gabe had a blast! the funny thing is, my post is almost exactly the same today -- except, mine features pictures of mostly food. :)
can't wait to meet up again!
And now I need a cream puff.
I used to live for the state fair when I was at syracuse... I didn't realize how much I missed it until a couple of years ago. And now after seeing all your pictures, i'm dying! Hmmm... Maybe a road trip is in our future next year???
Looks like an absolute blast... And i'm so jealous you met grace!
Yay for meeting another blog friend. She recently contacted me through my blog, so I checked out hers too.
The state fair is HUGE here too. We have the same dairy (milk) stand. When I moved here I could not believe how crazy these people are about THEIR fair. It is so crowded...my DH is *not* a fan. I think D would LOVEseeing the animals. We'll see.
this makes me sad that we are missing the IL state fair this year! looks like a blast - for everyone!
and wow! that is a lot of dairy! i'm a fan of funnel cakes at the fair - yum!
How neat that you were able to take Gabe to an event you both went to as kids! It looks like a fun fair with lots of yummy food--those cream puffs look delicious! I love showing Joel farm animals, too. It's so cute how intrigued he is!
